Why this website is so slow

IPSX is an on-again, off-again type of blog. Not keen on usability or anything. Well, in some ways it is—but read on.

You could say, ‘this website doesn’t feel like a masterstroke. Not the work of a genius.’ And you’d be right. It’s not a masterstroke. But before I tell you the secret to slow loading pages, let me first tell you a quick story about how IPSX came to be.

Hug a designer today

Granted, design may not save the world. While design may be about solving client problems, meeting insane deadlines or challenging the way in which we see the world, it’s also about translating things from one side to the other. Why this website has almost no footer

This website adheres to a strick ‘no-footer’ policy. Also, despite topics including ‘design’ and ‘copywriting’, you may have noticed that ipsx.ro has almost no graphics.

The reason behind this is not usability. Perhaps, if this no-graphics-at-all-kind of thing bothers you, you’re not in the right place. Followed the wrong link. Clicked on one of those trick banners. To you, I say: things don’t always work out. Sorry. Better luck next time.

If, however, you’ve made it so far, you should know that ipsx.ro is just an experiment.  Very much like a Hydra, it’s not been meant to live for very long. Maximum damage, not that many hit points. You could say it’s one of those the ‘faster they rise, the harder they fall’ blogs. So don’t update your bookmarks just yet.

Just wait for the first couple of posts to rub off of you. You’ll soon see there’s nothing there worth keeping track of. In your face, RSS.

So that’s it, in short. No footer needed. Not yet.

This better work

No shame in not being able to write. We do it all the time, surrounded by clueless epics. Writing—the skill—has long been lost for our generation. Perhaps never there to start with. Read More »
